The Buzz that Was: 7-Eleven Branches Out

7-Eleven is one of the few 24-hour convenience stores that mushroomed in the Philippines in 2014. The original name of 7-Eleven was “Tote’m Stores” due to customers toting their goods. It was then changed to 7-Eleven when the convenience store extended hours of operation from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm, seven times a week. It has become one of the convenience stores that is jam-packed not only with travelers making a pit stop but with locals (especially students) buying snacks and drinks.

7-Eleven, a now popular convenience store, has a variety of foods that caters to our essentials or daily cravings. It doesn't just sell snacks or drinks,  but it even has entertainment, work and school supplies to boot. 

Slurpee, its most famous drink to date, has many flavors and is affordable especially for students. The store also has sodas, milk, juice drinks and water with different sizes to quench your thirst or to carry with you as you travel. Other than junk food, you will find hot dog, siopao and rice meals. The peso-saving products will surely curb your not empty your pockets.

Though the 7-Eleven brand is international, it does not leave out the country’s flavors and delicacies. It serves dishes with rice such as sisig and giniling, Filipino delicacies made out of pork.

Teens mostly buy the sundae ice cream and Slurpee and adults mostly buy siopao with flavors such as asado and bola bola or even tuna. One thing is for certain, everyone knows 7-Eleven and can practically spot it everywhere due to its marketing, rapid growth and low cost supplies as the demand is plenty. (CANL)
